In middle school, Johnson was 6 feet tall and in the 10th grade, he reached to 6 feet, 4 inches. Calvin attended Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, Georgia. He was a three year starter as a wide receiver. In his sophomore year, he made 34 receptions for 646 yards and 10 touchdowns. Johnson was rated the nations top 10 wide receivers. Calvin signed a 6 year contract on August 3, 2007. The contract is worth up to 64 million, with 27.2 million in guaranteed money, making Calvin the third highest paid player in Lions history and the highest paid wide receiver in the NFL. On Sunday, September 9, 2007, Johnson catches 4 passes for 70 yards and his first career touchdown in Detroits 36 - 21 win over the Oakland Raiders. Johnson had an impressive NFL debut. Calvin Johnson was born with a talent and a rare combination of size, hands, speed, leaping ability, strength, body control and hand-eye coordination.
